Driving to Cape San Blas
Cape San Blas and Indian Pass are nestled off Scenic Highway 30A in Gulf County, with easy access from Port St. Joe and Apalachicola. Whether you're road-tripping from Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, or another part of Florida, getting here is simple:
- From the north: Use Highway 71 or Highway 231
- From the east or west: Take US-98, which hugs the Gulf Coast and leads directly to the area
Follow signage for County Road 30A, which winds through some of the most beautiful stretches of the Florida Panhandle.

Flying to Cape San Blas
While most visitors drive, there are three airports near Cape San Blas if you prefer to fly:
- Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport (ECP) in Panama City – The closest major airport, about 1 hour 45 minutes away via US-98 and County Road 30A.
- Marianna Municipal Airport – Approximately 2 hours from Cape San Blas, following FL-71 South to 30A South.
- Tallahassee International Airport (TLH) – The largest nearby airport, offering the most flight options. It's just over 2 hours away via US-319 S and 30A.
Once you land, renting a car is the easiest way to reach Cape San Blas and Indian Pass and explore everything the Gulf County coastline has to offer. The drive is scenic, peaceful, and a great start to your Florida beach getaway.
